we took the lead against chelsea and equalised. we went to stamford bridge and managed to get 2 goals and give chelsea a hard time! most of you are saying all these negatives about quedrue, nafti and doyle. HEY, we're in the premiership! we just got promoted and we're playing against former champions chelsea that have some of the best players in the world! at least we went there and gave them a hard time. nafti, doyle and quedrue played against chelsea. if they didn't cope, not all games are as hard as chelsea so you can obviously expect them to do better against other teams. we are not gonna play chelsea every week so why be so stupid? it was chelsea, but there are other games to play. we just came from the championship, and we're playing the champions of england chill, there are plenty of matches to come where they can give much better performances. even with 10 new players, chelsea are hard to beat. |

you wanted us to go to chelsea and win, or draw. hey they are the champs of england, it is possible to win but they are and always will be much better. it will be hard. today's performance you could see the players were giving it everything they had, and it was a brave performance with alot of heart. |

Well personally I expected us to get beat. Goalkeeping and defensive frailties aside, I would have liked to see us keep possession occasionally. |

There was a bit there to be encouraged about. Kapo, the centre-halves, Forssell looks sharp again. Once the team have gelled we'll be okay. |

Sorry but you can't tell me that Doyle was not at fault for 2 of the goals. Most people are just making certain points and not having a go.I for one thought we could have got a point as it was opening day and strange things do happen, but overall I was happy with the performance. We just need to learn to pass the ball better and defend better cause at times we were caught out due to a lack of talking and covering. |

For Gods sake. W go away agaisnt a team unbeaten at home in 3 seasons and against a manager unbeaten at home in five and a half years and lose by one goal in five and still people are having a pop. I wonder if people on here are infiltrators from vile dark. |

and anyway guys it is only the first match of the season, not the match that decides where our postion will be at the end. lets calm down, there are still 37 games to go over 10 months. |

Yawn: :boohoo: I know what we should do on a forum what is ALL about opinions, lets ALL say the same things, let's ALL agree with each other: Dont you think that would be little bit boring? Stop the pep talks, forums are about discussions and if cant handle opinions that differ to your own i think you better go and listen to Tom Ross who cuts eveyrone who has differing opinions off. |

Actually Man United are the current champs but that aside we did give the ball away cheaply at times Don't know how can you possibly pick Muamba and Nafti in the same team but there you go' Lots of positives especially the performances of Ridgwell and Djourou who form the backbone of the team and what a goal from Kapo.....I'll take more of those Quedrue is a good player but it's a shame Sadler didn't play today through injury...I still think Sadler can become an excellent left back and I have still have faith in him Doyle was a little shaky but he's a fine young goalkeeeper so don't want to be too crtitical after just one game FCS 3-2........It wasnt the hammering the pundits forecast was it ????? :applause: |

yeah so there is my opinion. you don't have to agree with me, but im getting my opinion heard. especially for those who still can't understand it was chelsea and we still have 37 games to go. forget the rubbish players because they will improve, if not, we don't know wednesday's line-up so we can't criticise nafti or anyone else. |

FFS Here we go again. I, for one, am pleasd with today's performance on the whole. We went to Chelsea, made a game of it and got 2 goals. not only did we get 2 goals but we took the lead and came back from a goal down after going 2-1 behind. Many better teams will collapse at that point this coming season. a little perspective is needed, Chelsea are over £100,000,000 better than us. It showed today. I wish people would stop picking holes in everything. Its like a broken record. Kapo's goal was worth the Sky subscription this month and to see Forssell back on the scoresheet was fantastic. I would have greeted a draw like win today, Chelsea have now gone 64 games unbeaten at home and people are moaning because we were beaten by a far better team. |

I actually have faith in Bruce to look for another central midfielder. He was after Ghaly so he knows that we are weak in that department. As for Wednesday i fully expect the same sort of team with Nafti and Muamba in the centre and Kapo and McSheffery swiching about on the wings with Jerome and Forssell up front. |

Regarless what St. George about my opinion thinks I do believe that positives can be drawn from today....belief is the one thing that will keep us up.... We need to take the fear out of the game when we play the BIG FOUR...we proved today we can compete but on too many occasions we paniced when we had the ball ! |

People are not moaning because we lost, k-bek. Some of us are stating an opinion on the team performance, which I think was below par, as was Chelsea's. Other people state that it was a great performance, and we should be proud of the lads. ffs |

Chelsea were champions for 2 out of the last 3 seasons, they have players worth over £100,000,000, they are a team of champions from all over Europe and showed it today. Blimey, if people are putting this much pressure on, singling players out and complaining this early in the season, God help us if we're not in the top 6 at Christmas. |

The record of 64 unbeaten makes me proud because we had a chance to win. We went there, scored 2 goals and were ahead at one point. They showed why they've spent 100s of millions of Pounds on players, whereas we've spent a tiny fraction of what they've spent. To come away with a scoreline like that makes me proud. |

Two stoppers in the centre of midfield against Chelsea was a good idea I think. I think that if the two of them can work on looking up and picking a quick killer pass through the centre to Kapo/Forss or straight out to the channels to Larsson/Sheff, then we're going to get a lot of goals this season. I'm impressed at the first time of seeing our new team together. If Doyley hadn't have had a bit of a mare with those last two goals, we could be talking about a fantastic win here. He was saving those sorts of shots for fun last season so I'm sure he'll pick himself back up after this game - he's a cracking keeper. Djourou and Ridge looked fine as our central defence pairing - considering that was a totally new back four except for Kelly, they didn't look too bad. Queudrue was a mistake though against a pacy Wright Phillips and having Sheff who doesn't track back. Left a big easy gap there from which the danger came. Lots to learn from this game and also lots to feel positive about going in to Sunderland on Wednesday. Well done lads - an entertaining game to watch and two great goals against Chelsea. Roll on Wednesday and let's grab our first 3 points. |
